Miller, Offy (Offenhauser) & Drake/Offy racing engines (1930-1980 @ the Indy 500) were America's premier racing power plants in Championship Big Cars, Indy Cars, Sprint Cars and Midgets on dirt and paved-oval tracks across the USA. For fortunate owners of these treasured engines, I'm offering a lot of 100 each "show quality" Stainless Steel certified aircraft 1/4-20 X 1" Socket Head Cap Screws drilled for safety wire (NAS1352C4H12 SS SHCS).
These fasteners attach "coolant-inlet" & "plain" Cylinder Block Side-Cover Plates. For engines drilled for 12-24 screws, it's an easy conversion to the larger 1/4-20 screws. Simply drill the 12-24 threaded holes with the correct 1/4-20 pilot/tap drill and re-tap the holes. From personal experience, I recommend thread-forming drills & taps for best results.
Most conversions require shortening the overall length of several screws to fit "shallow" threaded holes in some Cylinder-Blocks. When polished to a mirror finish, they exhibit an enhanced show-worthy appearance.
These 1/4-20 SS fasteners work for many other applications - not just Offy engines.
